Here we are again, another year has gone by and the big question on your mind is, what to wear to the North American International Auto Show? Bespoke Tuxedo’s and Custom Made suits are the outfits of choice for the elite attendees of this years,Charity Preview, opening night of the big auto show.

My name is, Sean McKee, owner of www.seanmckeeclothiers.com. My first recommendation is to wear a tuxedo either in black or midnight navy ( best choice) made from, Dormeuil fabric.  Now you may be surprised to hear that midnight navy is an appropriate color for a tuxedo but it’s actually the traditional color for a tuxedo.

A mid night navy tuxedo has a very elegant look that stands out from the crowd of  black tuxedo’s that almost every other man will have on at the charity event. The navy fabric is seen differently as the lights hit the navy color and give it that elegant “rich” appearance.

You will not be able to just run down to your local department store to grab a mid night navy tuxedo. This tux needs to be custom made for you which takes 6-8 weeks.

A black tuxedo will do as well. Pair either tux with a nice bow tie and cummerbund or go with a vest and regular neck tie and white shirt.

Be sure to wear a nice pair of black patent leather shoes( Allen Edmonds is a good choice)or a very high quality black shoe that has been professionally shined. Don’t dare go out with your shoes scuffed up to this event, let alone any other occasion you have to wear dress shoes.

If you do not own a tuxedo you can rent one form a local store but you will be most uncomfortable because of a poor fit and terrible quality which, unfortunately, will stand out in the crowd.

My last recommendation is to wear a dark color suit that you may already have in your wardrobe. Go with a white shirt and dark solid color tie to match. Again, shine your shoes.
